Board of Directors

The North Humboldt Recreation and Park District (NHRPD) is a special district as defined under the California Government Code.  The NHRPD is typical of a special district in that it receives a portion of property taxes to operate a focused public service.  In this case, the district runs one facility, the Arcata Community Pool.

It is governed by a five-member Board of Directors whose membership consists of citizens of the district who serve four-year terms as defined by the Humboldt County Elections Office.  The district boundaries encompass the city of Arcata and much of the surrounding areas between the Mad River and Indianola Road.

Note:  Two seats on the Board will be up for election in November  2021.  Information is available here.

Meetings are scheduled for the third Wednesday of each month at 4:30 p.m., in the Minckler Conference Room, at Mad River Hospital at 3800 Janes Road in Arcata. During the coronavirus epidemic the meetings have take place via Zoom
